How to Export Your Huckleberry Data (and What's in the File)

Export your Huckleberry data as a CSV, understand the columns and time zones, and import sleep, feeds and diapers into another tracker with left and right sides intact.

Your Huckleberry history belongs to you. Huckleberry can export each child’s log as a CSV file, a plain spreadsheet you can keep as a backup, open in Excel or Google Sheets, or bring into another app.

Here’s how to export it, what the file contains, and how to bring it into Robin Baby so your timeline keeps going.

How to export from Huckleberry

Huckleberry describes the steps in its help center:

  1. Open Huckleberry and tap your child’s profile icon in the menu bar.
  2. Scroll down and tap Export tracking data as CSV.
  3. Tap Got it! Email it.
  4. Open the email Huckleberry sends to the address on your account and download the file.

A few details worth knowing:

  • The link expires after 24 hours. If you miss it, request a new one from the same screen.
  • One file per child. If you have twins or more than one child, export each profile and name the files so you can tell them apart.
  • The menu may have moved. Huckleberry’s screenshots are from an older version of the app. If you don’t see the option under the profile icon, look in the child’s profile or settings for “Export”.

Do you need to pay to export?

Huckleberry’s help center doesn’t mention a paid-plan requirement for export, and export isn’t listed among the Plus or Premium features. That suggests export works on the free plan, though Huckleberry doesn’t say so outright. If you cancel a subscription, Huckleberry says your account and logged data stay in the app.

One thing doesn’t come with you: sleep plans from Huckleberry Premium aren’t part of the CSV. If you rely on one, save or screenshot it before you leave.

Planning to delete your account?

Export first. Huckleberry’s account deletion article says deletion is permanent and the data can’t be restored, and it recommends exporting each child’s data beforehand.

What’s in the export

The file has one row per entry and eight columns: Type, Start, End, Duration, Start Condition, Start Location, End Condition and Notes.

The catch is that the same columns mean different things depending on the Type. Here’s what they look like in a real export:

TypeWhat the columns hold
SleepStart, End and Duration (for example 11:24). Naps and night sleep aren’t labelled separately.
Feed, breastStart Location is Breast. The side timers sit in the condition columns, like 00:07R for 7 minutes on the right and 00:06L for 6 on the left.
Feed, bottleStart Location is Bottle, Start Condition says Formula or Breast Milk, and End Condition holds the amount, like 140ml.
DiaperEnd Condition says Pee, Poo or Both, sometimes with a size. The colour, if you logged one, lands in Duration.
PumpAmounts in the condition columns, like 100ml and 120ml.
GrowthWeight in Start Condition, length in Start Location.
MedsThe dose in Start Condition and the medicine’s name in Start Location.
Other activitiesTummy time and similar activities with a start, end and duration.

Two things trip people up when opening the file themselves:

  • Times have no time zone. A value like 2025-03-13 19:32 doesn’t say which time zone it’s in, so you’ll need to pick one when you import.
  • Columns change meaning by row. Sorting or summing a column across the whole file mixes up feeds, diapers and sleep. Filter by Type first.

Keep a copy before you do anything else

Save the original file somewhere safe and leave it untouched. If an import goes wrong or you want to try another app, you can always start again from the original.

Import your Huckleberry export into Robin Baby

Robin Baby reads Huckleberry’s format directly, so you don’t need to edit the file or map columns yourself.

  1. Install Robin Baby for iPhone or Android and add your child.
  2. Open Import from another app and choose your Huckleberry CSV.
  3. If you have more than one child, pick which child this file belongs to.
  4. Check the time zone. It defaults to your phone’s. Because Huckleberry’s times carry no time zone, pick the one that makes the imported times match what you see in Huckleberry.
  5. Review the preview: the activity types Robin recognized, the date range and how many events are ready.
  6. Confirm, then spot-check your oldest and newest entries against Huckleberry.

Importing is part of Robin Baby’s free plan. If something looks wrong, undo the whole import from Profile → Import history and try again.

What comes across

  • Sleep, with start and end times
  • Breastfeeds, with the left and right minutes kept separate, so a feed shows “L 6 min · R 7 min” just like one you timed in Robin
  • Bottles, with formula or breast milk and the amount
  • Diapers, wet, dirty or both
  • Pumping, as the session’s total amount
  • Medicine, temperature, solids and growth
  • Potty trips with a result, saved alongside diapers
  • Tummy time and other activities Robin doesn’t have a dedicated type for, kept as notes. Rows without a valid start time are skipped, so compare the preview with your original file

If Robin can’t read your file

If the import finds no events, check that you picked the original Huckleberry CSV. If events land at the wrong times, check the time zone. If the file still won’t import, tap Have us import it for you. The Robin Baby team imports it into your child’s timeline by hand and emails you when it’s done, usually within 24 hours.

After the import

Invite your partner or other caregivers from Profile → Invite Partner. The free plan includes up to three caregivers on one shared timeline.

Pick a day to switch everyone’s logging over, so new entries all end up in one place, and keep your Huckleberry export as a backup until you’re comfortable with the result.

Questions about exporting from Huckleberry

How do I export my data from Huckleberry?

In the Huckleberry app, tap your child's profile icon, scroll down and tap 'Export tracking data as CSV', then 'Got it! Email it'. Huckleberry emails a download link to the address on your account. The link works for 24 hours, and you can request a new one after that.

Does Huckleberry export all my children at once?

No. Huckleberry makes one CSV per child profile, so export each child separately and keep the files clearly named.

Do I need Huckleberry Plus or Premium to export?

Huckleberry's help center doesn't mention a paid-plan requirement for export, and export isn't listed among the Plus or Premium features, which suggests it works on the free plan. Cancelling a subscription keeps your logged data in the app. Sleep plans from Huckleberry Premium aren't part of the export.

Can I import my Huckleberry CSV into another app?

Yes. Huckleberry can't import data, but other trackers can read its export. Robin Baby reads Huckleberry's CSV directly, shows a preview before saving, and keeps the left and right minutes of each breastfeed.

Why do some imported times look wrong?

Huckleberry writes times without a time zone. When you import, make sure the time zone matches where you logged, or every entry can shift by a few hours.
